Brand Introduction
Hamilton was established in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. The brand gained recognition by developing the pocket watch 'Broadway Limited,' a tool for accurately telling train times. In 1914, it was selected as a supplier for the U.S. Army Air Forces, and in 1919, it provided timing services for winter sports and the United States Postal Service. By 1930, it was used as the official watch for many airlines. During World War II in 1947, Hamilton temporarily ceased the production of consumer watches and manufactured nearly a million military watches. In 1970, it introduced the world's first digital watch, 'Pulsar,' and in 1977, it was acquired by the Omega-Tissot-Longines Group, eventually becoming part of the Swatch Group in 1983.
