DR STRINGS The Beginnings DR began as a handmade string factory founded by Al Dronge, founder of GUILD GUITAR, who conveyed his string concept and thoughts on sound as a guitar maker to his son Mark Dronge, who then founded the factory to realize that idea.

Decision DR had gained a good reputation for its handmade production, but in order to supply products, it was rushing to adopt advanced technologies such as computer-controlled winding.
